How to Prepare Your Pool for Summer

If your home has a swimming pool, Spring is the time to start preparing it for summer fun. While you can always have a pool maintenance company do the work, making pool care for summer a DIY project can really cut down on costs. From the cleaning to safety measures like a pool fence, If you have time to prepare your pool for summer, here is a handy guide to help you do the job right. Near the start of last autumn, you may have stretched a leaf pool cover over your pool. If so, there may not be much debris to skim from the water with a pool rake, or suck out with a pool vacuum. If not, set aside time to remove sources of debris that could make the water filtration process inefficient. Then, it’s time to prepare the pool’s water filtration system for reactivation. Even if you fitted your pool with a protective cover all winter and the water isn’t cluttered with leafy debris, it will still probably be a bit cloudy from the accumulation of micro sediments which the pool’s winterized water filtration system would have otherwise removed. So, to prepare a pool for summer, you

The True Danger of Phones by the Swimming Pool

We live in a world that’s completely inundated with screens. We spend our work days staring into desktops and laptops. We unwind in front of the TV in the evenings. But of all the screens vying for our attention every day, none is better at seducing us than the one sitting in our pockets: the smartphone. Some studies put the average time Americans spend interacting with their phone at just over 3 hours a day! Of all the dangerous ways a person can multitask, one of the worst is using their phone at the pool. This habit can have disastrous consequences for you, your pets, your loved ones, and even that technological marvel in your palm. Swimming safety is no joke! While water damage to your phone can be an irritating (and expensive problem), but it’s hardly the biggest issue with bringing your phone to the pool. It’s Always a Distraction All that time we spend on our phone reading the news or playing Candy Crush is time we’re not watching our kids. And if that happens when the little ones are swimming, that can be incredibly dangerous. Our phones seem to always be a massive distraction for us —

The Dangers of Spas and Hot Tubs for Kids

Hot tubs are so popular that many of us forget that they can be dangerous. Just like swimming pools, stoves, and a variety of other household items, hot tubs carry many risks — and if used improperly, they can be very harmful. This is particularly true for young children, who are less likely to watch out for danger while they swim. Thankfully, protecting your children from the dangers of hot tubs is actually quite simple. How Water Safety Laws Have Changed Since 1950

When it comes to kids and swimming pools, every parent knows that safety is of the utmost importance. It’s the driving force behind the rules we teach our little ones, the safety tools we install in our yards, and the pool laws that have shaped the swimming pool industry in recent decades. The pool safety laws we have on the books today look quite different from the days of your parents and grandparents. Here’s a quick look at the steps lawmakers have taken to make residential and public pools safer for the kids in your life. ASTM International Standards ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, has been around since well before the 1950s, but they regularly help to create product testing standards that help shape our safety laws for pools. These standards can help you determine which products are strong and safe enough to keep your family protected. Mesh fencing by All-Safe, for instance, actually exceeds ASTM standards. These standards identify mesh pool covers are another excellent option. While ASTM isn’t technically a governing body, they do work with the United States’ Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to ensure that the safest product standards

Color Variations

Colors on your screen or brochure may not match the actual color of your product.

Due to the many variations in monitors, phones, and browsers, color samples and product examples may appear different on different screens. Computers and mobile devices are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. The same is true for printed items such as brochures and other sales literature.

In addition, the colors of our products photograph differently under different lighting conditions. For example, photos taken in full sunlight will vary from photos taken on a cloudy or overcast day. Similarly, shadows from nearby objects can affect the color and transparency of our products. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Colors will vary from batch to batch.

Many of our products’ materials are not available through typical stores and vendors and therefore must be custom manufactured specifically for our use. In order to control costs and provide you with the best value possible, our raw materials are produced in large batches and can often take several months to receive. The colors of our materials can, and often do, vary slightly from batch to batch. Although we make every effort to minimize color variations, we cannot be responsible for these differences when they occur. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Color names are subjective and may not be what you think the color should be.

For example, we use the name “putty” to describe some of our products. Your idea of the color “putty” may be different than someone else’s idea of “putty”. In addition, products may have the same color name but may not be the exact same color. For example, we have different shades of “black”. Please do not order using color names as your only guide. If a precise color or specific shade is important, please inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

Inspect the actual color of your product prior to installation.

If it is important that your product be an exact color or shade, it is highly recommended that you inspect the actual product prior to its installation and address any concerns with your local independent installer. Most independent installers do not offer refunds or accept returns due to color variations.
