Mesh Pool Covers

What is a Mesh Pool Cover?

All-Safe® pool covers are designed to provide safety and to keep leaves and debris from entering your pool. Pool covers are held down with springs and anchors that are drilled into the pool deck. Pool safety covers are typically available in mesh and in solid fabrics.

All-Safe safety pool covers utilize a mesh fabric that allows rainwater to pass through. All-Safe mesh swimming pool covers feature double-stitched webbing, an easy-to-adjust stainless steel spring system, and non-corrosive brass anchors. Our swimming pool cover material is fabricated to withstand the elements and will not dry or crack with age. Each of pool covers includes all the necessary hardware, including an extra long allen key with handle and stainless steel installation tool.

Our mesh swimming pool safety covers are designed for both safety and maintenance. They are chosen, most often, by pool owners who use their pool infrequently or who wish to close the pool down after the swim season has passed. Keeping the pool clean and reducing maintenance while establishing a secure barrier is the key advantage of a pool cover.

From simple to complex pools, you are assured of a properly designed swimming pool cover that fits perfectly every time. Free form designs, rock formations, waterfalls, raised walls, and elevation changes are handled with ease. The quality of materials, workmanship and multitude of options available ensure you’ll get a beautiful pool cover that provides safety and peace of mind for years to come.

Mesh Safety Pool Cover

When mesh swimming pool covers are installed properly, children and pets cannot fall or slip into the pool. The tightly woven mesh in our swimming pool covers allows water to filter through while screening out leaves and debris, and minimizes the sunlight that passes through the swimming pool cover, therefore reducing the springtime algae growth in your swimming pool.

Features:
  • Tight-fitting safety barrier.
  • Prevents unwanted entry.
  • Reduces maintenance.
  • Keeps pool free of debris.
  • Reduces evaporation.

Our mesh pool covers can be custom-made to fit the exact shape of your pool. This type of pool safety cover will easily support the weight of a child and two or three adults in the event a rescue effort is necessary. The mesh fabric allows rainwater to pass through so that it does not collect on top of the pool cover.

Mesh pool covers are great for closing the pool down in the winter but are not ideal when the pool is going to be used frequently. If safety is the main concern, a preferred choice would be the pool safety net. Mesh safety pool covers are very strong but can take several minutes to remove and replace and often require two people to handle.

A typical mesh swimming pool cover can be removed in about 20 minutes and replacement requires about 30 minutes. Experience using the swimming pool cover reduces the time and two people working together can make the job much easier.

Is a Mesh Pool Cover Right for You?

The tightly woven mesh in a winter pool cover allows water to filter through while screening out leaves and debris. An All-Safe® pool cover remains dry and the leaves and debris simply blow away. A mesh pool cover is ideal for owners who close down their pool during the winter months.

While one should not walk on a mesh pool cover unless absolutely necessary, they are strong enough to support the weight of several adults. This type of pool cover, in fact, has been shown supporting the weight of a small elephant.

Mesh swimming pool safety covers are not ideally suited to pools with extensive rock or waterfall features. Although a mesh cover can often be installed on this type of pool, we do not recommend it. Another challenging situation for mesh swimming pool safety covers is a vanishing edge pool. For this type of pool we recommend pool fences or pool nets.

We do not recommend a pool cover for those who use their pool frequently as removal and replacement of a pool cover can be quite time consuming. Typically this type of pool cover is used in areas where the winter months bring snow and force the closure of the swimming pool. A mesh pool cover is ideal for “winterizing” your pool. If safety is the main concern, and leaves and debris are not an issue, your best option may be a pool fence. A pool fence allows for convenient pool access for those who use their swimming pool regularly.

Brass Pool Cover Anchor

Brass Pool Cover Anchor

The anchor for mesh swimming pool covers is made of brass and will not rust. When not in use, the safety pool cover anchor recesses flush with the pool deck.

Double Stitched Webbing

Double Stitched Webbing

The webbing on our mesh swimming pool cover is double stitched and placed on both sides of the pool cover for superior strength. The webbing is fabricated to have a tensile strength of approximately 4,000 pounds per square inch, making the pool cover super strong and safe.

Elevation Changes

Elevation Changes

When deck height varies, this treatment is used to keep debris from coming in through side gaps in winter pool covers. Depending on the area, either a triangle flap is sewn onto the pool cover which folds down, or angled foam blocks are provided to wedge underneath the winter pool cover.

Mesh Material

Our mesh pool cover is fabricated with a unique blend of lightweight, supple polypropylene that stays dry and does not crack with age. It has an extremely high tensile strength and is impervious to chlorine and mildew. Rain will not collect on the surface of the mesh pool cover, it will just drain through, while leaves and debris just dry and blow away. Wonderfully convenient, there are no water bags or pumping necessary. Off-season maintenance of the mesh pool cover is virtually eliminated.

Stainless Steel Spring

Stainless Steel Spring

The heavy-duty stainless steel spring, with its custom designed integrated buckle, enables quick installation and adjustment of mesh pool covers. In addition, it has a specially designed bend at each end. This bend insures there are no gaps between the mesh pool cover and the decking, keeping wind from blowing debris under the pool cover. All springs come with a plastic cover to protect the pool deck from abrasion.

Straps

Straps

Our mesh pool covers are custom-designed and manufactured to your pool. The strap spacing for your mesh pool cover will depend on the shape, size and location of your pool. Some pools will have the option for 5 x 5 foot spacing while other pools are required to have 3 x 3 foot spacing.

Strong Brass Cap

Strong Brass Cap

The cap for mesh swimming pool covers is made of brass and painted black to prevent corrosion. This cap prevents the webbing on these pool covers from unraveling.

Mesh safety pool covers are a desirable option in pool safety today. Mesh swimming pool covers provide advantages over other safety barriers and All-Safe® covers have many advantages over other brands and types of pool safety covers.

The installation of a mesh pool safety cover requires patience, skill and attention to detail. When installed properly, an All-Safe® swimming pool safety cover will look fantastic and provide an excellent layer of safety.

The installation process of a pool safety cover begins with the official measurement. In order to manufacture a mesh swimming pool safety cover that will fit the exact shape of your pool, about 100 measurements must be taken. These measurements are entered into a computer that uses triangulation to recreate the shape of your pool. Once the mesh swimming pool safety cover has been manufactured and delivered, the installation can begin.

Brass pool cover anchors are installed into ¾” holes that have been drilled into the pool deck. These anchors are raised slightly above the deck when the swimming pool safety cover is in place over the water but can be recessed flush with pool deck when the swimming pool safety cover is not in use.

Once the anchors are in place, the spring buckle assemblies are attached to the swimming pool safety cover straps. The tension of the spring on each strap is adjusted. Once all of the straps have been adjusted, the installation is complete.

There are a few options to consider when choosing between various swimming pool covers. Most mesh swimming pool covers will provide a satisfactory level of safety if properly cared for. However, not all mesh swimming pool covers are equal in quality. It is important that the mesh swimming pool cover straps go completely across the pool cover on both the top and bottom of the cover. Also, the spacing of the straps on a mesh swimming pool cover will greatly affect the overall strength.

When considering the various styles of a mesh swimming pool cover, you will need to choose between a custom cover and a standard pool cover. All-Safe® recommends a custom-shaped pool cover so that it fits your pool exactly, however, a standard stock cover will typically be less expensive.

The mesh swimming pool cover is available in green, blue and black. Green is the most popular color, however, there are some backyards where blue or black is more appropriate.

What are the advantages of Mesh Pool Covers?

Our mesh pool cover establishes a secure barrier of safety between your child and the pool while keeping the pool clean and reducing maintenance. Accidental intrusion by people or pets is eliminated. The tightly woven mesh pool cover allows water to filter through, screening out leaves and debris. Your cover remains dry and leaves and debris simply blow away. The mesh pool cover is ideal for owners who close down their pools during the winter months and is not recommended for those who use their pool frequently.

Will a Mesh Pool Cover work on my pool?

Pool covers are ideally installed on pools having a single level of concrete deck surrounding them, but a few steps can usually be accommodated. Pool covers are custom made and fitted to the exact size and shape of your pool to assure that your pool safety cover can be tight and secure.

How will a Mesh Pool Cover affect my pool use?

A specially designed tool is required to unlock your pool safety cover. The mesh pool cover can be removed in 20 minutes or less. Replacement of the mesh pool cover usually requires less than 30 minutes. Experience using the mesh pool cover reduces the time required and two people working together can make the job easier. It is important to always remove the mesh pool cover completely while the pool is in use and to replace it after each use.

Will a Mesh Pool Cover impact the aesthetics of my pool area?

Drilling holes in your deck might sound easy, but getting the proper angles requires lots of practice. We highly recommend that you hire a trained professional to install your pool fence.

Will holes have to be drilled in my deck for a Mesh Pool Cover?

Yes, the mesh pool cover is held securely in place by attaching spring/ buckle straps to anchors that have been recessed into the pool deck. The hole for each flush mounted brass anchor is ¾ inch in diameter.

How strong are Mesh Pool Covers?

Our mesh pool cover is manufactured with webbing on both sides of the pool safety cover for maximum strength. The webbing is stitched with bonded, triple threads and all intersections have a cross and box stitch that produces superior strength. This type of pool safety cover can easily support adult weight, but unnecessary walking on the mesh pool cover is not recommended.

How long does a Mesh Pool Cover last?

The mesh pool cover is fabricated with a unique blend of lightweight, supple, polypropylene. It can withstand winds and storms and will not dry or crack with age. The covers’ longevity and durability makes them well suited for use in harsher climates and for winterizing the pool. Each mesh pool cover comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

Will a Mesh Pool Cover satisfy regulatory agency requirements?

Our mesh pool covers are designed and manufactured to the strictest safety guidelines and meet ASTM standards. Specific safety barriers can be required by certain governmental and/or social service agencies. If you plan to adopt a child, open a daycare or become a foster parent, you should contact the agency you are working with. They will be able to tell you which pool enclosures and specifications will be in compliance. Your local building department can determine which type of pool enclosures will fulfill requirements for new construction. Unfortunately, All-safe can make no determination or guarantee as to the suitability of its pool enclosures for purposes of satisfying any specific jurisdiction.

How long will it take to get a Pool Cover?

Your mesh pool cover will be manufactured to the exact size and specifications of your pool. The manufacturing process usually takes 1 week and you should allow 2 to 3 weeks for shipping and scheduling. The actual installation will typically be done in less than one day.
